Plagiarism Policy
The International Journal of Psychology and Therapy (IJPT) maintains a strict policy against plagiarism and academic misconduct.
All submitted manuscripts are screened using professional plagiarism detection software before peer review. A manuscript may be rejected at any stage if significant similarity is detected.
Acceptable Similarity Limits
Ø Below 10% — Acceptable
Ø 10–20% — Revision required
Ø Above 20% — Rejected
Similarity from references, methodology descriptions, and standard terms may be excluded at editorial discretion.
Types of Plagiarism Considered Misconduct
The journal considers the following unethical:
v Direct copying of text without citation
v Paraphrasing without attribution
v Self-plagiarism or duplicate publication
v Data plagiarism
v Image plagiarism
v AI-generated content presented as original research
Actions Taken
If plagiarism is identified:
Before publication:
Ø Immediate rejection
Ø Author warning
After publication:
Ø Article retraction
Ø Public notice on website
Ø Notification to author's institution
Ø Severe cases may lead to permanent submission ban.
Author Responsibility
Authors must ensure originality of submitted work and properly cite all sources. Submission to IJPT implies acceptance of this policy.
