Publication Ethics
Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement
The International Journal of Psychology and Therapy (IJPT) follows the ethical standards and best-practice guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Duties of Authors
Authors must ensure that submitted manuscripts are original and have not been published or submitted elsewhere. Plagiarism in any form is unacceptable. All sources must be properly cited. Data fabrication, falsification, image manipulation, or misrepresentation of results constitutes unethical behaviour.
Authors must disclose any financial or personal conflict of interest that may influence the research. All listed authors must have significantly contributed to the study and approve the final manuscript.
Human and animal research must follow institutional and international ethical standards. Authors must confirm informed consent and ethical approval where applicable.
Duties of Editors
Editors evaluate manuscripts only on academic merit, originality, clarity, and relevance to the journal scope. Decisions are not influenced by the authors’ nationality, institutional affiliation, gender, or beliefs.
Editors maintain confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts and will not use unpublished materials for personal research.
Duties of Reviewers
Reviewers provide objective, constructive, and timely peer review. Confidentiality must be maintained. Reviewers must disclose conflicts of interest and decline review if necessary.
Misconduct Handling
The journal investigates ethical complaints according to COPE flowcharts. Actions may include:
· Rejection of manuscript
· Publication correction
· Retraction
· Notification to institutions
