The International Journal of Psychology and Therapy (IJPT) is committed to maintaining a transparent, equitable, and sustainable publication model that supports high-quality scholarly communication. In alignment with international publishing standards and the expectations of indexing systems such as Scopus and the Web of Science, the journal operates under an open access framework supported by an Article Processing Charge (APC). This policy ensures the long-term sustainability of editorial operations, peer review management, digital preservation, and global dissemination of research.

Article Processing Charge (APC)

Effective from January 2026, IJPT will implement an Article Processing Charge (APC) of USD 200 for all accepted manuscripts. This fee is applicable only after the manuscript has successfully undergone peer review and has been formally accepted for publication. There are no submission fees, and authors are not required to make any payment during the initial submission or review stages. The APC supports the journal’s commitment to providing immediate open access to all published content without subscription barriers.

Scope of the Publication Fee

The APC covers a range of essential publishing services, including but not limited to: manuscript handling and editorial processing, coordination of double-blind peer review, plagiarism screening, copyediting, typesetting, DOI registration, online hosting, indexing support, and long-term digital archiving. These services ensure that each published article meets the highest standards of quality, accessibility, and visibility within the global academic community.

Open Access and Licensing

All articles published in IJPT are made freely available under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0). This licence allows unrestricted access, distribution, and reuse of published content, provided that appropriate credit is given to the original authors and the source of publication. The APC model enables the journal to maintain this open access policy, thereby enhancing the reach, citation potential, and academic impact of the published research.

Waiver and Discount Policy

IJPT recognises that financial constraints may affect the ability of some authors to pay publication fees. The journal may consider partial or full APC waivers on a case-by-case basis for authors from low-income countries or under special circumstances. Requests for waivers must be submitted to the editorial office prior to or at the time of manuscript submission and will be evaluated based on the merit of the request and the availability of resources.

Payment Process and Transparency

Upon acceptance of a manuscript, authors will receive a formal notification along with detailed instructions for payment. The APC must be paid before the final publication of the article. The journal ensures full transparency in its fee structure, and no hidden charges are applied at any stage of the publication process. Official receipts and payment confirmations are provided to authors for institutional or funding purposes.

Compliance with International Standards

The implementation of a clear and transparent APC policy aligns IJPT with global best practices in open access publishing. By maintaining a reasonable and standardised publication fee, the journal supports sustainable operations while ensuring compliance with the requirements of major indexing and abstracting services.

Through this policy, IJPT aims to balance accessibility, quality, and sustainability, fostering a credible and inclusive platform for the dissemination of research in psychology and technology.
